Testing and Evaluating Prototype
In order to ensure the satisfaction and safety of the customer, multiple processes and tests must be conducted and analyzed. The Build Plan and the Test Plan will be documented down below. If the product does not meet the expected results for any of the tests, the product will be reevaluated and corrected.
In order to determine whether or not the design works, each specification must be proven to work through calculations and data. This report also outlines laws related to the design to determine where this design can be used and any potential ethical concerns regarding the environment and the manufacturing and distribution of the product.
Test Criteria and Procedure
To ensure the success of the product, clear criteria on what is considered a pass for each measurement must be listed. The Design Specifications are used to determine what parts need to be tested and how. This report lists all of the tests that will be performed for the hand controls driving aid.
Necessary Materials and Build Procedure
A build plan is a step-by-step instruction manual on how to construct the prototype. This helps keep the builders on track and should be comprehensive to anyone. Beyond just instructions, there is also a Bill of Materials, Tools and Equipment needed and Required Knowledge that must all be obtained prior to building. This build plan goes alongside...
Design Concepts & Selection
After determining the design specifications for the hand-control driving aid, the next step is to create designs. By analyzing previous solutions on the market and collecting preferences on certain features through an independent survey, each member brainstormed individually and then created individual design concepts, and then continually narrowed...
Solution Requirements
By analyzing current products and patents used to assist drivers, a list of design specifications was noted based on the most common features and more unique features. Through an independent survey, SCI patients and caretakers ranked the importance of each component. Reliability and ease of control were ranked greatest priority, followed by...
Prior Solutions
This report will discuss existing solutions to the loss of driving independence of spinal cord injury patients. The contents below will also briefly describe patents that relate to vehicle modifications and add-ons.
Problem Identification and Justification
The primary issue regarding spinal cord injuries is the sudden loss of independence. Transportation is the largest concern for patients since it is correlated with employment. This report will discuss the increasing prevalence and significance of this problem along with the current market status for solutions.
